Organised by Calne Rotary Club, the charity fun run boasts some fantastic scenery around the beautiful Bowood estate grounds.

The 31st Annual Calne Rotary 10km Charity Fun Run at Bowood is on Sunday 24th March 2019. You can enter online At Riders HQ link here

and download and print the event poster and the course map at Calne Rotary Drop Box.

This friendly Fun Run and Walk caters for a wide range of participants, including serious club runners, joggers, keep-fit enthusiasts and walkers who would like to enjoy a few hours in the fresh air in picturesque Bowood Park.

Our chosen charities this year are the Calne Welfare Charities and the SSAFA, Soldiers, Sailors & Airmen Families Association, ssafa.org.uk). We encourage participants to raise money for their own chosen charity by requesting sponsorship from family and friends.

For the first time this year a Rock Choir will be singing at the event and an organised warm up session will be held before the start.

The race is multi-terrain, starting on tarmac which is ideal for runners to find their legs and spread out before a cross country section, along the golf course and tracks through the woods. The last two miles are in open countryside, alongside Bowood lake and Bowood house before a short sprint to the finish.

At the finish station there will be water bottles and bananas available for all participants. Refreshments are on sale in the Bowood Cafe, where bacon butties are always very popular.

Estate owner, Lord Lansdowne will start the race and Mayor of Calne, Glenis Ansell will be presenting the winners trophies immediately after the event.

This year as a special treat we will have a gospel choir to entertain as we get ready for the run and we will also have a fitness trainer providing some gentle warm up exercises to get the runners in the mood and ready to run.
